Bow Tie
Well another week and I'm off my vacation. It's been strangely nice not doing a lot of art the last few weeks. I guess it shows that even artist need little breaks from creating. I do feel though like something is missing when I'm not painting or drawing much.
2009 is almost around the corner, it's going to be a fun year I think. I'll be starting a new printing class in January, it will be nice to sharpen my printing skills. I realize I enjoy printing and mass producing my art. I'll also be starting up on a few design jobs right off the bat, Northern Voice 09 poster, that's always a hit, and a possible childrens book. Of coarse the new year will also bring it's challenges, as I'm fairly new to the Copenhagen art scene it's going to take a lot of work to climb that ladder. It's like starting from the bottom, as not a lot of doors open when you are new, you got to do small things (cafe shows, free murals, etc). It takes time before people start wanting to work with you.
I guess it's called paying your dues:)

Forest Chrystals
I realize that on vacation I have more time to surf the net and blog, I just came across a deign studio called Forest, they have started to do the art direction for a magazine called Anthem (fashion, music, art), it's pretty neat stuff. I'm liking this wave of designers that mix it up with fine art. It feels like everything is melding together and that there are not as many limits on what is art and what is design (you can paint and do graphic design, and still get respect for both.)
In my own little art world I did two simple paintings, I seem to be getting more into shapes. I think it's just because I can shut my brain off when doing simple things like triangles, it's like a creative vacation.

Prison Zine Done
Finished up my newest 16 page zine titled "home made prison tattoos". I'm quite proud of it as the art in it were made for the zine and not vice versa. You got guys with lots of tattoos, little sayings to reflect there thoughts, patterns, and even a severed head at the end. Enjoy the photos.
p.s. I'll probably post it for sale at the shop in the coming week

Japan Students Show Design
I received a letter from my Swedish friend who lives in Japan, this was my favorite clipping that was in the small package. I like the cleanness of the style, the scarf and the black dress. It feels well put together. I wonder if I could build an art piece with this photo as inspiration, what about a series or paintings, or a zine.
